Best Lunch Spot Ever

Chez Victor in Salamanca, Spain has got to be one of the tastiest places to have a meal anywhere. Taking a tip from Rick Steve's guidebook we ducked into Chez Victor one afternoon to see what the fuss was all about.

The place is run by Victor (a Spaniard) and his French wife. The food was superb and the hospitality was excellent. Our table was sandwiched between a young family having lunch and a table full of business people smoking cigars and making deals.

We were the tail-end of the lunch crowd so as the place was shutting down for the afternoon Victor came out to talk to some of the patrons. He stopped at our table and chatted for a while in Spanish. Despite 8 full weeks of intense-ish language study, Heather and I are still Spanish hacks. However, Victor was very patient and seemed happy to have a pretty basic conversation and wanted to know where we were from and where we were living now.

At any rate this was a wonderfully prepared 4 course lunch that we won't forget for a long time.
